Anyone who knows me at all knows that I start holiday shopping early. I work tirelessly on my list and do research to be sure I am getting the perfect gift for each person. And this year, I have a new mission: to give the children on my list toys that they can enjoy for years to come and toys that will not break or be tossed aside before spring. See, I have had it with all the gizmos and gadgets and I want to get back to more traditional playthings that inspire the imagination.

For the three younger girls, I am thinking about the Breyer plush toys. They are adorable and cuddly, but also high quality heirloom toys. They can snuggle up with them for a few years, then place them on a shelf to remember their baby days. My oldest niece is about to turn seven. She's pretty much out of the stuffed animal phase, but really likes pretend play with small sets and dolls.
